Community Matters

AGL and the Community

AGL's goal is to connect with the community in ways which make a genuine positive contribution, engage our people and strengthen our business. To achieve this goal, AGL's community efforts involve both active communication and contributions.

Our Hunter Community Engagement

AGL has an extensive program to communicate with the community. AGL regularly consults with landowners, neighbours, residents, local councils and relevant government agencies during all stages of our exploration activities to ensure that information is available.

The Hunter Valley, with its strong history in farming and as home to viticulture, horse breeding and tourism, is a unique part of Australia. AGL will make every effort to make sure that our activities are sympathetic to existing land uses.

AGL is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen in the communities in which we invest, work and live. The Company's community consultation and communication activities include:

  • Community Consultative Committee participation
  • Project newsletters and fact sheets
  • Regular updates in community newspapers
  • Regular consultation with landowners and neighbours
  • Information placed on local notice boards
  • Consultation on exploration activities
  • Hunter Project website

The purpose of the CCC is to provide a forum of open discussion between AGL and the community. It is aimed at facilitating good working relationships amongst committee members and to act as a channel to assist AGL in improving communication, education and information within the general Hunter Valley community.

The charter for the CCC can be found here.

Minutes and presentations from the CCC meetings can be found here.

AGL welcomes the opportunity to talk with the community and individuals about the Hunter Gas Project. If you have ideas how AGL can engage with the community, please let us know.
