Menangle Park - Proposed Modification Application
A report has been prepared to assess an application for a modification to the development consent - DA 183‐8‐2004i.
The modification is for the addition of a new production well, MP25 (the well), associated GGL, and upgraded access track for construction access. The proposed well will be adjacent to an existing MP16 well, in order to minimise additional ground disturbance.
The location of the proposed well and upgraded access track has been previously disturbed and modified through previous land uses including the area being previously sand mined as well as the construction of the existing MP16.
AGL welcomes any questions or comments on this current application. Enquiries can be sent to camdengasproject@agl.com.au

Water Studies
As a part of the sustainable development of coal seam gas exploration it is critical to protect groundwater resources. The Camden groundwater investigation and monitoring program was developed by Parsons Brinckerhoff and AGL to help the community understand what impacts, if any, there might be on groundwater resources as a result of exploration for natural gas.
A desktop study has been completed for the Camden North area that identifies the different groundwater systems across the region. This study is available below.
AGL Upstream Gas, as part of its CSG exploration and production programs in NSW and QLD, commissioned a desktop study on the occurrence of naturally occurring hydrocarbons in groundwater from Permian coals measures and associated sedimentary rocks. The report prepared by CSIRO and Earth Science and Resource Engineering - Petroleum and Geothermal Research Portfolio Group concluded that most of the detected total petroleum hydrocarbons, PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) and BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes) compounds appear to be naturally occurring. The complete report is available below.
